Citrix Synergy 2010

This year, I’m attending the Citrix Synergy 2010 in Berlin. The first European Citrix Synergy event ever. With it being sold out, it sure is a great success, which will definately will get a follow up next year.

With a two da head start as a partner on the Summit, I’ve already had the opportunity to follow some great Hands-on Learning Labs on

  • Troubleshooting XenServer: Which offered some great xeCLI and linux commands to check the health of your Hypervisor and optimize it’s configuration.
  • XenClient: The new Desktop Hypervisor that wasn’t as stable (using RC 2) as a multitasker like me, would like it to be.
  • XenDesktop 5: The soon to be released latest version of Citrix’s VDI solution. This definiately has lots of improvements and new Architectural designs. I loved having fun with it today.

And if that is not enough great news, I also was offered the change to take a free exam and passed the 1y0-A18 Administration XenApp 6 exam, which makes my XenApp certification up-to-date again.

Today Mark Templeton also held a great keynote, which was streamed live through the Synergy website, so all that couldn’t attend would still be able to check out the latest news from Citrix. With some great news about HDFaces being the free HD Video addition to GoToMeeting, The new Feature Pack for XenServer 5.6, The anouncement of XenDesktop 5, The great Cloud connectors that are build to make the Receiver be the universal interface to combine Single SignOn, SaaS, Web and local DataCenter applications for your user, giving your user a great Application and Infrastructure portal for the environment it wants to use today.
A great innovative and creative view on combining new technologies to offer users a great workplace.

So with this quick stream of my impressions and thoughts about Synergy I’m gonna leave you for now and hopefully find the time for a quick update tomorrow.
